Honeymoon Getaway to Belize

Why are more and more couples choosing Belize as their honeymoon destination? I don't have all the answers, but I can tell you why I did.

When I was planning my honeymoon I wanted to go somewhere different... somewhere none of my friends had been... somewhere, quite frankly my friends and family would be just a little bit jealous of. Everyone is going to Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic these days. Don't get me wrong, all are beautiful destinations that I have personally travelled to, but in my opinion they were just too ordinary.

With that in mind I began searching the internet. I searched google for "Belize beach getaway" and was amazed at the number of hits I received. Once I started reading about all of the different resorts, I was hooked! Belize was definitely the perfect honeymoon destination.

It was difficult to narrow down where to stay. I wanted to experience a bit of the mainland and do some of the jungle activities like zip lining, cave tubing, horseback riding and hiking. I also really wanted to try out snorkeling for the first time and be close to the ocean. So, I chose the best of both worlds and stayed on the mainland for half of my honeymoon in Hopkins and spent the rest of the week at Thatch Caye Resort. My new husband and I had an incredible time and can't wait to go back for a second honeymoon.

I returned home after a week in paradise with memories of a honeymoon and a country that will last a lifetime.
